Are you ready to
party on the Island?
Padre Island is known for the quality of its nightlife - during Spring Break and the other eleven months of the year!
But March is king of the party months on the Island, with great bands, performers and entertainers packing in the crowds at nightclubs and special concerts being staged on the beach and other concert locations. Bowling For Soup was one of the major sleeper acts of 2004, thrilling the throngs that gathered on South Padre for the now-famous "Texas Week" concert, rocking Louie's Backyard to the wee hours of the morning. Other great bands and performers during Spring Break have included South African rockers Seether, Lifehouse, 50 Cent, Crystal Method, Coolio, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Robert Earl Keen, Eminem - and others.

Every year more and more beach stages have cropped up at popular places along the coast, offering refreshment, live shows, contests and giveaway promotions for the hundreds of thousands who have come to party. The Coca Cola Beach Pavilion has been among the favorites in recent years, setting up in from South Padre's Sheraton Resort. Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark has gotten in on the action as well with concert series throughout the month of March.
And then there's the annual Miss Hawaiian Tropic Beauty contest at Louie's Backyard, and a few hundred famous (or notorious) bikini contests (most notably at Sharkey's in Port Aransas - Mustang Island), and assorted spontaneous parties that happen when and where the crowd gathers on the beaches of Texas.
Follow this page all throughout the month of March for updated photos of the best concerts, club scenes, and out-of-control parties. You'll also find timely information about who is performing where and when, and the latest information about special parties and attractions on the Texas coast.
